Annual Garba Event|Sunnyvale Community Center, Sunnyvale, CA

We love photographing the Patel Family’s annual garba celebration at the Sunnyvale Community Center Ballroom. We got some aerial shots of this beautiful park and venue. They coordinate colorful themes and outfits across generations, which makes each moment both fun and unforgettable. Musicians, a live band, and a singer set the lively tone — fun fact: the drums were played by the father of one of my past brides. This year everyone enjoyed glow-in-the-dark dandia sticks. We begin with family portraits, detail shots, teen tali, kids’ songs, and lots of garba, followed by Aarti and a break for a delicious lunch and appetizers from Beli’s Kitchen. The night wrapped up with energetic dandia and a few high-spirited Bhangra numbers.
