Engagement Photos | Pismo Beach Dunes, CA

The Pismo Beach Dunes is truly a stunning and picturesque location, making it an ideal spot for capturing beautiful engagement photos. In fact, we have had the pleasure of working there in the past, and one of our previous clients, who was a relative of another couple, specifically requested that we replicate the enchanting shoot for her as well. Pismo Beach Dunes is about a three-hour drive from my home, and I often find myself wishing it were closer, as it would allow us to utilize this breathtaking location more frequently for photography sessions.

Nevertheless, an engagement photoshoot at the Pismo Beach Dunes really does turn into an all-day event when you consider the time spent traveling. The round trip drive takes a total of six hours, so this substantial travel time certainly needs to be factored into the day's plans.

Additionally, it is highly recommended to drive a 4 wheel drive preferrably an SUV or a truck to the dunes, as there is a short stretch of sandy beach you will need to navigate to reach the Pismo Beach Dunes. Unfortunately, our clients attempted to drive their sedan and ended up getting stuck in the sand, resulting in the need for beach patrol to come and assist them in dislodging their vehicle.

There is ome grass that grows in the sand, and if you desire the appearance of only pure sand with no distractions, there is quite a bit more walking involved to reach that specific area. We had to trek much further down the shoreline to get to this preferred spot as well. Once we finally arrived at that picturesque location, we were able to capture some truly stunning photos and videos. The drone technology showcased some breathtaking images and video footage as well. Initially, the sun was shining brightly during our shoot, but suddenly, out of nowhere, a thick blanket of fog rolled in and settled over the area for quite some time. You will notice the fog in some of the photos we took. It continued to linger until much later when we finally departed from the dunes. While making our way back, we had to drive cautiously around the beach to reach the parking lot because visibility was reduced to almost zero.
